Ramsgate Port

Ramsgate Port has long been an area with it’s own differing issues over many years, with a failing ferry business leaving our Council millions of pounds out of pocket the area fell into disrepair and left unused for it’s intended purpose…

Understandably TDC needed to recoup some money, unfortunately for Ramsgate that involved the real threat of industrialisation, since then Bretts have been quietly expanding their ‘working’ area on the port but news that another company, ‘The O’Regan Group’, with the threat being this company wanting to use the port as a concrete block manufacturing plant, FoRS organised meetings and petitions, further pressure on Thanet District Council in early 2015 saw a statement delivered by a Councillor for the then Leader of the Council Iris Johnson that stated clearly that the port would not be used for this purpose…

But as of March 2017 the O’Regan Group still have it on their website they are coming to Ramsgate…

SEE FOR YOURSELF
